"...one of the functional prismatic units of a compound eye..."
(1995) This series of pieces emerged from my studies at Wesleyan University. A valentine to the musics of Alvin Lucier and Steve Reich.
Simple loops are laid over themselves with a very small offset resulting in phasing. Resonant frequencies build and reveal the harmonics of each loop. The offset is small enough for the phasing to be acoustic rather than rhythmic.
No additional processing was applied to the loops except a low frequency rolloff towards the end of "garlicky."
